To further roleplay the Michigan State Police allows its members to create, maintain and obtain membership in subdivisions. Subdivisions allow Troopers to receive specialized training and become experts in specific areas of enforcement. All subdivisions have internal rank structures, vehicle/uniform structures and documents which are maintained by their appointed coordinators in conjunction with the Michigan State Police’s Command Staff and Administration Team.
Bomb Unit

Marine Unit

This unit is responsible for patrolling waterways, enforcing maritime laws, ensuring boater safety, conducting water rescues, and responding to emergencies that occur on lakes, rivers, or coastal areas. Members of the Marine Unit often operate boats or watercraft and receive specialized training in water rescue, navigation, and other maritime activities. The primary goal is to maintain safety and security on bodies of water within their jurisdiction.
(Trooper 3) Aviation
The responsibility of the aviation unit is to assist ground units with high priority calls. These high priority calls include Pursuits, Robberies, Hostage Situations, and Serving Warrants. In addition to assisting LEOs with priority calls, the aviation unit can also assist the Fire Department with Search & Rescue calls.
Special Emergency Response Team
The Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), Is responsible for handling high-priority calls that normal patrol units aren’t equipped to handle. The SERT team undergoes extensive training to prepare them for these situations. Their expertise is particularly crucial in managing hostage situations, robberies, and mass shootouts. Moreover, the SERT team collaborates with Narcotics Unit to serve warrants for wanted fugitives, enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement operations.
Cyber Unit

CVE
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) focuses on regulating and enforcing compliance with regulations for trucks and buses. It includes checks on weight limits, vehicle inspections, driver compliance, cargo transport, and necessary permits. This ensures road safety, infrastructure protection, and adherence to commercial vehicle regulations. As a detective, it’s your job to investigate unsolved crimes within our jurisdiction. Your primary goal should be to be able to solve a crime and take the suspect to trial to get them sentenced by the courts.
MBU
